How Do I Add Reports to Menus

Adding Reports or Forms to Menus in MS Dynamics NAV 4.0 and Higher

  1. From within the database, go to Tools, Navigation Pane Designer.
  2. Click on the Functional Area, such as Financial Management, where you want to add the Report or Form and then open up a sub folder. For example, if you were adding a new Report to the General Ledger Entries Report List, go to Financial Management, General Ledger, Reports, Entries.
  3. Once you have located the sub folder where you want to add the Report or Form, right click one of the Reports or Forms listed in the sub folder, and then select Create Item.

  5. From the Create Item screen, select Report in the Object Type field if you are adding a new Report. If you are adding a Form, select Form in the Object Type field. In the Object ID field type the Id or the Name of the Report or Form you are adding. You can also click on the up arrow to the right of this field and select the Id from the List. Note: Client specific Objects are in the 50,000 range.

  7. Once you have selected the Report or Form you want to add, click on the OK button on the Create Item screen. This will add the Report or Form to the bottom of the list in the sub folder you selected.
  8. To move a Report or Form up or down in the list, right click on the item you want to move, select the Move Up or Move Down option.

  10. To save your changes, press ESC (escape key) until the Save Changes screen appears asking you “Do you want to save the changes to the MenuSuite 90 Company? Click Yes to save your changes, Click No if you are not ready to save your changes, and Click Cancel to cancel the request.

  12. Once the changes have been saved, the other users in your system will need to log out of the database and log back. This will refresh their view and they will be able to see the new Report or Form you have added to the Menu.

Note: To add reports or forms to menus in MS Dynamics NAV Users need to have either super user permissions or be a member of the SUPER (NAVIPANE) role.

Dynamics NAV Style Sheet Tool for Word

Want to export the customer information, sales order, vendor information, or other details to Word from your Dynamics NAV system? Now by simply clicking a button, you can export to Word.

How Can I use the Style Sheet Tool?

  • Select fields in Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Arrange the fields within Microsoft Word
  • Import the Word document to Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Use your new Style Sheet to export Sales documents, Vendor Information, Items, and more!

How Does the Export Work?

To give you an example of what Style Sheets can do for you, let’s look at the Sales Order Confirmation Style Sheet that comes prepackaged with your Microsoft Dynamics NAV software.

  1. Open the Microsoft Dynamics NAV document or form which has a defined Style Sheet (for this example, use the Sales Order)

  3. Click the Send Options button
  4. Dynamics NAV Send Options Button

  5. For the Microsoft Word record, click on the Style Sheet field and select “Sales Order Confirmation”
  6. Click Send
  7. Microsoft Word will automatically launch and show you your result!
